I prefer to communicate via email for my business, but I have a business phone line that I had hooked up to fax machine. And I was using PrivatePhone.com where people could leave me a voice mail, and I could call them back (if I wanted to). Well, Private Phone up and ended their service on me (it was Free, so I can’t complain too much).
So, I did some research looking for a fax machine with a voice mail option to use my existing line for both business and fax. I also wanted either laser, toner or inkjet as I didn’t want to deal with a rolled toner cartridge like my old fax machine (Brother FAX-575 Personal Fax, Phone and Copier) used.
I opted for the Brother IntelliFax-1960c Color Inkjet Fax with 5.8 GHz Cordless Handset. I got it today and am so excited. I already got it set up and think I’m gonna love it! I set it up to automatically answer every call after the first ring (and shut the ringer off so I don’t hear it) and it stores either the fax or the voice mail. Then if I have a fax or message waiting, the light will blink, and I can retrieve at my leisure.
I’ve been playing (aka testing), calling and leaving messages from my house phone to make sure it’s working correctly. It even can send and receive color faxes and make copies. Plus works as a printer if I decide to hook it up to my computer. So far, so fun, so good! I definitely recommend it. So if you want to call me, I won’t answer, but you can leave a message! Available from Amazon.com.
My brother has a Smartphone and absolutely loves it. I have been thinking of getting a new cell phone, and trusting his opinions, am leaning towards a Smartphone as well. And now I’m think I’m in love…

After my trips to Australia and New Zealand back in September, I found myself constantly taking out my SD card and put it in the laptop drive to retrieve my pictures. The SD card slot is in the same place as the batteries, so I’d have to reset the date and time when I took out the card.
I came across this WiFi SD card by Eye-Fi from Buy.com. This should fix my problem nicely. Along with 2GB of memory, the card uses your home Wi-Fi network to automatically transfer your photos to your PC.
